Dr Ian Bernstein
Musculoskeletal physician, Cora Health MSK Ltd, Guideline Chair, National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE)
Dr Ian Bernstein works as a musculoskeletal physician for the NHS West & North London community pain management service.
Ian trained first as a GP in 1992, became a GP Trainer in 2002 and Director of Medical Education at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust in 2020. Ian trained at the London College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993 and completed his MSc in Osteopathy and Musculoskeletal medicine at University College London in 1999. Ian was the Clinical Director for Musculoskeletal Health Improvement at NHS England, London Region and co-chaired the Musculoskeletal Work and Health subgroup (2021-2023).
Ian chaired the NICE Rehabilitation for Chronic Neurological Disorders Guideline Committee (2021-2025) and continues working for NICE as a guideline chair and Technology Appraisal Committee member.
Mr Sacha Mowla
Pain Service Lead, Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner, Cora Health MSK Ltd
Mr Sacha Mowla works as an advanced physiotherapy practitioner and is a pain service lead within the West & North London community pain management service.
Sacha graduated in Physiotherapy in 2009 and completed an Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy MSc in 2014, with a focus on pain management.
He completed physiotherapy rotations at Kingston Hospital as a Band 5, before securing a Band 6 MSK outpatients and orthopaedic rotation within the same trust. Following his MSc, he obtained a Band 7 position within the UCLH Complex Chronic Pain and Rheumatology service, working with children and adolescents. Before moving into a senior position within the Hammersmith and Fulham Community Pain Service, as both an advanced physiotherapy practitioner and service lead. The pain service has since expanded from Hammersmith and Fulham to Brent, Harrow, Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster and Hillingdon.
