Dr Joanna Lovett, GP and SPIN Fellow in Central London, was honoured to be commended at the London General Practice Awards 2025 for the Safety Award, which recognises a group or individual’s contributions to safe general practice services. This. commendation was awarded for her work in providing education and training for primary care on the issues faced by transgender. patients and how best to support them. Dr Lovett, was delighted that this work was acknowledged, believing it highlights the importance of improving care for transgender patients. She remains passionate about continuing to run this training for primary care and is excited to see where this work will go in the future, aiming to enhance support for both these patients and the staff who care for them.
