Multiprofessional Educational Forum Sessions delivered monthly/bimonthly to staff within HCL.
Lunch & Learn: Spotting the Signs – Early Identification and Referral Pathways for Eating Disorders
Co-delivered by Elena Pop HCL First Contact Dietitian and Laura Fialko – Vincent Square Clinical Lead Psychologist from the STRIDES service (Support to Recovery in Disordered Eating Service for 16–35s).
Eating disorders remain a high-risk and often under-recognised area in primary care, where early intervention is crucial. In this session, we’ll explore how to identify early signs of disordered eating and outline clear, practical steps for assessment and timely referral. We’ll also provide a joined-up overview of both dietetic input and the STRIDES service—highlighting current service provision, referral pathways, and wait times—to ensure clinicians feel confident and well-informed when supporting this patient group.
To bring these concepts to life, we’ll walk through a real patient case study and leave time at the end for questions and discussion.
