Chatsuda Chierakul, GP Educator Lead
Sophie McFarland, Dietician
I am a GP partner at Cavendish Health Centre and an experienced GP trainer. My role as the GP Education Lead is multifaceted and involves supporting the approval of new trainers and new training practices, approval and annual peer review of our four PCNs as multi-professional training environments, supporting our SPIN fellows, working with local medical schools to help with quality approval for the PCNs and increase medical student placements in primary care as well as liaising with my educator colleagues within North West London in fora such as the North West London Training Hub Clinical Senate.
Sophie is a multi-professional educator with a strong focus on collaborative learning and integrated care. She co-leads the coordination of monthly multi-disciplinary education sessions for healthcare staff, promoting greater awareness, cross-sector insight, and inter-professional collaboration.
Sophie currently supervises two GP SPIN Fellows, both specialising in lifestyle medicine—one piloting group consultations, and the other focusing on 1:1 interventions to assess the impact of behaviour change on health outcomes. She also supervises an AHP SPIN Dietitian whose work addresses health inequalities in long-term conditions, specifically the development of culturally appropriate and translated educational resources for diabetes prevention in Cantonese.
In addition to her supervisory roles, Sophie actively develops educational content for healthcare professionals on holistic care approaches, and creates patient-facing resources aimed at empowering self-management and promoting sustainable health behaviours.
